What happens at midnight

A crazy face is made to portray the excitment....

A ridiculous amout of good food is purchased. Good thing we are a couple of girls who love big purses. Reason being: the bigger the bag the more food it fits!

My favorite candy now comes in a 99 cent box. Life is good!

This girl and I got to sit through an epic film. Were big fans. Can you tell??

(this picture may or may not be taken in the bathroom while waiting in line to pee)

Fabulous movie, fabulous time! Totally worth the lack of sleep... I got home at 3:30, alarm went off at 6:30, left for work at 7.

The muddiest fun on earth

My weekend was adventurous! Take a look at how I spent my Saturday morning.

Runner cross 5K Mud Run! This 5K was a BLAST and all about FUN!

This is what a Mud Run is all about....

A thrilling offroad footrace held on a super sweet multi-loop track infused with eye popping obstacles , mud, water, and super fun twists and turns.

Before the run. Acting tough, ready to get muddy and tackle that course behind us!

Our Obstacles included:

A Stall Wall
Log Bog
Steeple Jump
Mud crawl
Mud Fountain
Hang on a hill
Slip N' Slide
Monkey bar cross
Niagra Falls ( basically a mud river) AHHH!

This was a three loop obstacle course. The first round was a blast!

The second lap around was a little intense...I kind of got beat up.

The Slip N' Slide was one of my favorite parts of the course. The first time, I had tons of fun with it. Ran down, slid, and gracefully landed in a mud pool. It was great!

The second time around I had the same idea but I was more on the side of the slip N' slide so halfway down I slid off the slip N' slide and hit the dirt rocky hill and slid down! My left side took a beating! I now have a "dirt hill" rash all over my left bum cheek.

I would show you but that could be awkward. So, I will just point to it and make a really hurtful, sad face.

I wanted to cry! It killed!

Despite this I had an epic time!!

After effects.

We are a bunch of tough mudder's!

After playing in the mud we were all starving so it was necessary that we go to IHOP and carb load!

We went straight from the race to IHOP. People starred. Apparently they dont see "dirty" people!
I was nice and went and washed my face in the bathroom. I'm sure they loved me for that.

A Birthday Shout OUT!

Holla! It's this kid's birthday!!

Happy, Happy Birthday Steven!

You are the best brother this girl could have ever asked for!

Steven is the comedian in our house. He keeps us all laughing with his crazy jokes and his fun loving attitude. He goes around quoting movie lines....he know's every movie line out there, I swear! His famous line is "name that movie" and he will throw that into any conversation...joking and serious. Steven tries his best at everything he does and because of this he excels in many area's. He has no fears! His passion in life is snowboarding and he is DANG good at it. Steven, knows how to have fun and enjoy life. He is a hardworker and has the biggest heart around. He would do anything for anybody. Steven, being the only boy in the family and has taken on the role of a protector. He watches out for us as his sister's. He has offered to go punch a few guys that could have used it. Haha, and I appreciate this more than ever! He's got our back!
I love this kid more than anything! I sure do miss him. He has made the decision to dedicate two years of his life to the Gosple of Jesus Christ. I am so proud of him for this choice. It was a tough road at times, but he never backed down and always remained positive even when life decided to throw him set backs. He has taken all of his experiences and learned from them and has made the best of every situation. For that, he has become my hero!

Steven left for Santiago Chile yesturday. He arrived this morning on his 20th Birthday. My dad had a buisness trip and was flying out the same day as Steven. We has a family decided to drop my dad off at the airport and we ran into Steven! Oh my gosh!! What a coincidence...
It was the best moment! Steven looked so good!!

It was great to see him! He gave me the best hug ever! His face was full of excitement and he is ready to embark on this new adventure!

Santiago Chile...Watch out! Elder Grimes has stomped foot on your grounds!

Love ya steven! Happy Birthday!

See ya soon!

The biggest kept secret

( I may be overly excited about this) A boot camp fitness class at the AF amplitheater for FREE!! Who knew. Apparently every Tuesday and Thursday morning's this butt kick class is held...I went today and got exactly that..my butt was oh so kicked!!! I secretly loved it...it was so fun going to a fitness class outside.

My body does hurt already...no doubt about it! This class was a great combination of strength, cardio, and core work which is exactly what my muscles needed.

I also got signed up to receive "deals" from Groupon.  I have never used this, ever. Or anything like it and I am beginning to ask myself, why. Groupon...where have you been my whole life?

Found this amazing deal today and signed up right away. I am super pumped.
Thank you groupon for allowing me to purchase amazing deals all while allowing me to save money which will mostly likely cause me to spend more! ( Genius idea....)

My morning was quite productive if I dont say so myself. Considering the two things above were accomplised by 9 am. Did I mention it was my day to sleep in? Boo-yah, linnea.

The rest of the day I got to learn about the Immune System and T cells....blah, blah sounds boring...I know. But...my professor related part of the lesson to Mean Girls!!!  I appreciated this video lecture segment way to much.

To funny! I could get used to learning this way. Immune System....I got ya down!

Anyone else taking summer classes?  Why oh why do they even exist?

My childhood love hits the big screen

My morning started with a gorgeous run down the canyon. I sadly didnt take any pictures because it scares me to death to run with my phone so maybe next time.

5 miles down American Fork Canyon. Check, check! Wanna feel good about running?? Run 5 miles down the canyon with an added bonus of gorgeous scenery. It works for me.

This is my third day this week that I didn't have to work. I could get use to only working two days a week! Unfortunantly my bank account wouldn't agree. Oh life...you are amusing sometimes.

After my run I came home and went back to sleep. (A typical linnea routine) I needed to be well rested for what is about to occur at the 12:03 am hour. Ooooh....What could it be might you ask?

Snow White and the Huntsman! I literally can NOT wait! It's looks awesome!

Plus, I have been a Snow White fan since I was a wee lad....so of course this would be on my summer "must see" list.

Oh Man!

I normally always sneak treats into the theater...(who doesn't) but guess what I found lurking at the bottom of my panty.

(It's a popcorn night!)
Refillable popcorn buckets! Excuse me I said that wrong...5 as in five, refillable movie theater popcorn buckets. Yes, I am taking one of these buckets to fill up with buttery goodness and I am going to share it all with myself...while enjoying the PG-13 version story of my favorite disney princess.

Kristen Stewart...You better not mess this up. Or I will personally hunt you down with my water gun.

Happy Birthday B!

This girl is 18....What???

This is how we spent the day she was born

Lunch at Tucanos....two reasons: 1.  free birthday meal card (duh), 2. Grilled pineapple and garlic sirloin, yes please! It was B's first time and we ate like "meat lovers"

After a delicious lunch with our family of four, I took B shopping. She got to spend some birthday money and the two of us needed to complete her birthday present from me.

Having some fun!

Birthday present complete.

But of course she needed a side kick

So excited....We are going to be tearin up the streets on these babies! I could possibly be breaking my left wrist this summer...oh but we are not hoping for that...NO we are NOT! Balance + Linnea has never equaled "good" but...too late! This longboard and I are going to become buddies!

Drinking Dr. Pepper....Cupcakes???

YES, These are her Birthday Cupcakes! How cute, right? I love them! We dug right into those after shopping. My mom also bought Dr. Pepper flavored icecream topping. It was like drinking straight DP but it was for icecream. Greatest combination ever.

Mom and Dad did participate in these birthday celebrations however, they some how didnt get photographed...hmmm.

Happy Birthday B! Love you times one billion Dr. Pepper Cupcakes :)

No early work day...so it started with a race

Our local city put on a free 5K this morning. I of course had to take advantage of a free race so I recruited the sister and some friends and we ran around the streets of American Fork bright and early this morning.

We had a good time! Right now running still feels "hard" and I have become quite humbled as I get back into it. However, I am loving these free races that are allowing me to train and put myself back into running shoes. Its slowly coming back and I look forward to my upcoming summer training.

After the race I went home and went back to bed. If I have a day off of work I am going to enjoy it by getting myself some extra sleep! I then just spent the rest of the day being lazy which was perfect.

Happy Memorial Day!

What a great day to reflect and remember those men and women who have and who are serving for this great country. I appreciate their personal sacrafice for the freedom we all now enjoy. May these men and women continue to be in our everday thoughts.

Bookin it for Boobies

Today I ran my first 5k of the season.

It was the Susan G. Komen race for the cure Salt Lake City!

Thousands gathered this morning at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City and...I was lucky enough to be in the crowd.
Did you know that every 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Also the
American Cancer Society estimates that in 2012, about 226,870 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and about 39,510 will die from breast cancer. These are not good odds! So...what was done today??
Today... we were all fighting..."fighting against breast cancer!"

At the starting line.... (getting ready to "Fight like a girl"....that's the only way to do it!)

after the race, built ford TOUGH!
My cute friend Jessica and I did the race together!
Ford was one of the many sponsors for this 5K.
Jessica works at a Ford dealership and they hooked us up with these cute t-shirts and payed our registration fee. It was awesome and I was super grateful! This 5k was not timed. Which was good for me. At this point in time I dont think I am ready to be competitive so it was nice to have a relaxed race. I was able to just get out there and enjoy every aspect of running. It was a great run! Now, Im excited to get back into racing. (I forgot how much I loved it )
This was one of the funnest experiences I have had running a 5k. The organization for this event was awesome, the route was great, and of course the crowd topped it all!
This 5k will most definitely make it on my list of races for 2013. I can't wait to do it again!

Steven reported to the MTC today (May 9th) at 12:55 (he has only been there a few short hours but he has many left to love) There is no place I would rather this kid be. I am sure going to miss ya buddy!
Thanks for being an awesome brother!
He couldnt stop smiling!

(I love you, See you in two! )

A gift from Lindsey

A few weeks back I recieved a surprise package from my bestie in Washington. I just want to take a second to give a shout out to Lindsey (Hermana Grimes) my awesome sister. Lindsey has been a huge support to me. Linds encourages me to follow my dreams and not give up, she also has been with me every step of the way through some of my hardest experiences. Even a billion miles away (okay...not really) she is still their for me expressing encouragement, telling me I deserve better, and reminding me every week that I am an amazing and beautiful sister! Gosh...I love her! She reminds me that I am important and those who's actions express otherwise should be shot! Ha, those might be my words but still...we get eachother! Linds, has to be the most thoughtful person I know. Lindsey is always thinking of others and wants them to feel extra special. She makes people feel so loved by her actions. One of her favorite things to do for people is give gifts. Here's what came to my doorstep at a time I needed to talk to her the most.

This was the ultimate package for a girl to get over a break up. The package was filled with various items and specific instructions...
I am not even going to try and summarize Lindsey's creativity...so here it goes. My package included:
1. A box of Tissues- "your allowed to cry and be sad. It's okay, you just got your heart broken but dont let it last to long."
2. A chick flick movie "Watch a chick flick, eat some junk and MOVE ON"
3. An Eraser " Delete him as a friend on facebook and block him.
4. A chewey granola bar "Dont compare yourself to not having a boyfriend to those around you that do. It's a small fact of life that some friends are going to married before others. You only marry on person so in the end who gives a CRAP at how many boyfriends you have/had or how many dates you went on. What matters is the one boy who you end up with". "Chews Wise."
5. Matches "Get rid of notes and pictures hanging on to them is just re-living the memories. You can move on if your still stuck in the past."
6. A people magazine "Know you have so many People on your side."
7. Peanut M & M's  "Have someone goes to his apartment and kick him where it counts and say YOU KNOW WHY. '' (I think this one is my favorite!!)
8. A package of gummy worms, and coin candies " Give other people a chance. Find yourself some wierdos you need a good laugh and some funny stories. You have to dig before you can find the treasure. Do Some Digging."
9. Jerky "FACT: HE IS A JERK"
10. Nivea chapstick "Prepare you lips for better things to come" :)
11. Shampoo "Wash him right out and let yourself have fun. You Deserve It."

Ta-Da that's it...Isn't she so creative? This totally made my day! How cute is this package?
Lindsey is the best! She is an awesome sister and I have no idea where I would be without her love and support. Also, guess what today is?! Lindsey's half way mark...today she has been out 9 months! Wahoo!
Let the countdown begin!

One year later and another One big white envelope

Just around this time a year ago the Grimes family was in Saint George as Lindsey opened a very big white envelope. Last night was no different from that moment......
.................................................................................

except the fact that it was Steven's turn. Did I fool any of you in the above picture?? Ha probably not cause let's be serious that would be a funny joke. Plus I have been telling everyone about steven's good news all week because I have been so dang excited. Good one nea! Last night was a party, family and friends filled our family room as the much anticipated call was opened. Steven has been called to labor in the Santiago Chile East Mission! He will report to the Missionary Training Center on May 9th. We may have all freaked out just a bit! Just a short two months away. Steven is so excited and spent the whole night researching the country of Chile and saying his mission over and over again. To say he is excited and ready to go I think is an understatment.

Way to go Steven!! I am so proud of you. You are going to be an amazing missionary! Love ya!! :)

The night ended with a surprise phone call....

(Video is being stupid....I will work on posting it soon!)

Lindsey had no idea Steven was preparing to go a Mission and we gave her the best announcement last night. This was an awesome moment and possibly my favorite part of the entire evening!!!

My running feet are happy

True statement: when you are a runner, your feet need to be happy, simple as that. A good pair of running shoes = happy running feet. My hopes for this year is to get back into long distance running. With that being the plan I knew I needed a new pair of running shoes. My mom being the sweetheart that she is bought me an new pair of Mizuno's. I was definently not expecting this gift but I am so greatful, it was long over due.

I have found that Mizuno running shoes work the best for me, I have a funky way of running and I need extra "cushion" in certain areas of my shoe and Mizuno has done the trick.
These babies have gotten me through:
2 half marathons
1 full marathon &
a century bike ride....(it was time to retire these shoes)
So...a big welcome to my new running shoes!!

I love them!! They feel fantastic and they dont look to shabby either. (Side note: running shoes will never make a fashion statement). Although I am digging the Zebra look...in fact I love it so much I want to add this fabulous running tank to the mix. How awesome is this combination?? I'm doing it!

First run with the new shoes was on the treadmill (ugh...I hate the treadmill) the verdict is... these shoes are perfect, I have the exact support I need to keep my feet moving. To bad they dont make me run faster however, that will come with time.

25 days

Do you remember how it was once the first part of January. Well, I do. I am going to be completely honest I made myself a goal for the New Year and it has taken me this long to put it into action. My goal was to become a better, more passionate runner. I used to love running, I actually still do but it sadly has become a low priority in my life. I got to thinking and I kept asking myself why? Why on earth would I put something I love doing aside. I decided I was going to change that this year and my proof is going be right here. Wahoo!! Lets all start love running!! Since I have been slacking I proudly tell you that today was my first run of the year and it has only taken me 25 days (pathetic, I know). Other than the fact that it has taken me this long it was great.
My alarm went off disgustingly at the below time. Is it human to get up this early?? I am girl who LOVES my sleep so to me waking up this early may or may not have been insane.

However, I did it and it felt great. I am kind of a slow poke right now and I am no where close to my goal but it's a start. I felt accomplished and chipper all day! I love Endorphins!!

On a side note I was spending my day at UVU like I usually do and at the end of my day I walk up a large chunk of staires so me being the person that I am decided to count them. Guess how many staires I walk to get from my last class to the parking lot?? One hundred and fourteen. If that doesn't start doing something to my quads I dont know what will.

PS: Today I went to my favorite place of all time to go grocery shopping. Guess where that happens to be...My mom's pantry
I love it...Best thing Ever!! Thank, mom
